The Taal Volcano in Batangas, Philippines spewed ash some 14
kilometers into the sky on January 12, 2020 which prompted warnings and a
possible “hazardous explosive eruption.” In this connection, the government has
ordered a force evacuation of tens of thousands of people living near the
volcano. In this connection, PAIS extended relief operations to more than 700
beneficiaries affected by the eruption. Packs of goods were given through
partner organizations such as APPEND Inc., MBS Solve Insurance Agency and TSPI.
On March 14, 2017, a Memorandum of Agreement was signed between Pinoy Ako Insurance Services, Inc. and the Taytay sa Kauswagan (A Microfinance NGO) Inc. at TSKI Main Office in Iloilo City.
APPEND added micro insurance services to its expanding Microenterprise Development programs and have established the Pinoy Ako Insurance Services, Inc. (PAIS) to provide comprehensive, affordable and viable life and non-life micro insurance services.
